  1. Angela says:

Ooh that’s ages away – looks good though!

    • Cari Hunter says:

Aye, it is a while. Thanks to the day job, I find it almost impossible to write to a deadline so I tend not to submit a proposal until I have a manuscript well under way because submitting one earlier will come with dates and commitments and it’s all very stressful. The downside is that I don’t get a pre-agreed slot on the schedule, either. Sorry!

  2. Can’t wait to read it! Please don’t make it too gruesome :-p

    • Cari Hunter says:

LOL. I think you might be all right with this one – no need to read it between your fingers or anything. It has its moments but it’s pretty non-graphic compared to say the Dark Peak books or Tumbledown. It’s definitely not an all-out romance (can’t see myself ever managing to write one of those) but it’s more character-centric than anything I’ve written of late and there are some nice, light scenes to offset the darker stuff. It makes me laugh rereading it and I adore the two lead characters.

      • Great! You made me a happy reader. Sometimes I compare eduring your gory books to watching ‘The silence of the lambs’ just to see Jodie Foster. They are both so worth it 😀

        • Cari Hunter says:

Yeah, I figure there’s plenty of fluff and niceness out there in lesfic land and someone has to reflect reality! I suppose – given what I do for a living – I’d be more likely to want to write fluff as escapism, but it just hasn’t worked out like that. Breathe certainly has its sweeter moments. I’ll probably get some readers shouting at me for not making it gruesome enough 😉
