Cover and Blurb for ‘A Quiet Death’ (Dark Peak #3)

Given that the release date for A Quiet Death, the third book in the Dark Peak series, isn’t till January, 2017, I’ve been sitting on its cover and its blurb for a little while now. However, Amazon and GoodReads have both bloody scooped me this week, so it seemed daft not to share.

The blurb contains very mild spoilers for folks who’ve not read Cold to the Touch (book 2!)

A Quiet Death final

That’s the front! The back will read a little (well, exactly) like this:

In book three in the Dark Peak series, things are looking up for Detective Sanne Jensen and Dr. Meg Fielding. Dating each other seems to be working, their families are behaving themselves, and the worst of the post-Christmas crime wave is over.

The discovery of a Pakistani girl’s body out on the moors changes all that. No one knows who she is, who hurt her, or how she came to be there. As pressure mounts on East Derbyshire Special Ops for a quick resolution, it becomes ever more apparent that the case won’t provide one.

With the Pakistani community closing ranks, and threads of suspicion reaching farther than anyone could have predicted, the investigation leaves Sanne facing an ordeal she may not survive.

Dun dun dun!

January, 2017. Not too long to wait now, is there? 😉

IT IS STILL TOO LONG TO WAIT!!! ARRRRRGH!! Ok, I am better now…will try to be civilized and patient…yeah, good luck with that!! Looking forward!

Hopefully it will brighten up that dreary post-Christmas season, Margaret 🙂 Plot-wise, this has been quite the bugger to write, so it might well take my editor till January to untangle it all 😉

    Excited!!!!

  4. Wendy Newton says:

Can’t wait for your new novel to become available, I love finding something to read that keeps me interested, just hate waiting for a new book in a series. I love the murder/mystery rather than ‘just’ romance fiction.

    • Cari Hunter says:

Thanks, Wendy. I love this third one, so I’m looking forward to it coming out as well (nervous, as ever, but looking forward to it!) I’ve not had the edits back yet and it’ll be nice to work through the story again because it’s a while since I’ve had the chance to read it. I’ve been really happy with the feedback for this series. There seems to be a growing appetite for lesfic novels that step beyond the romance genre, and that’s very encouraging for authors who prefer to write something a bit outside the usual formula.
